The Barry County Sheriff’s Office responded to 236 calls for service during the week of April 20 to April 26, according to a May 4 statement. The report details a range of incidents that required law enforcement attention throughout Barry County.
The weekly summary provides insight into the types and frequency of incidents local law enforcement address. Calls included alarms, assaults, burglaries, domestic disturbances, driving while intoxicated offenses, thefts, harassment cases, medical issues, paper service tasks, prisoner transports, suspicious persons reports, traffic stops and warrant services.
Not all calls resulted in official reports. However, several notable incidents were documented over the week. On April 20 alone there were multiple cases including stealing valued at $750 or more in Eagle Rock and Butterfield; identity theft or attempt in Wheaton; harassment second degree in Cassville; domestic assault third degree in Galena; possession of child pornography in Monett; a vehicle tow in Aurora; a vehicle lockout in Cassville; and burglary second degree in Shell Knob.
Other days saw additional offenses such as property damage first degree reported on April 21 and again on April 23 and property damage second degree on April 23. Reports also included sodomy second degree (Aurora), child molestation second degree (Verona), missing juvenile (Purdy), various degrees of domestic assault across multiple towns including Butterfield and Golden, harassment first and second degrees (Eagle Rock and Purdy), tampering with a motor vehicle (Butterfield) as well as several instances of vehicle lockouts across different locations.
This regular release aims to keep residents informed about public safety matters within Barry County. The sheriff’s office continues its efforts responding daily to varied situations affecting individuals throughout the area.
