Barry County Sheriff’s Office responds to 245 calls for service in mid-April

The Barry County Sheriff’s Office responded to 245 calls for service during the week of April 13 to April 19, according to a statement released on April 21.

These calls included a wide range of incidents such as alarms, assaults, burglaries, domestic disturbances, driving while intoxicated offenses, thefts, harassment cases, medical issues, paper service requests, prisoner transports, reports of suspicious persons, traffic stops and warrant services. Not all calls resulted in formal reports.

Among the notable incidents documented in official reports were several cases of domestic assault across multiple towns including Monett and Purdy. Other reported offenses included motor vehicle theft in Eagle Rock and stealing controlled substances in Washburn. Cassville saw incidents ranging from trespassing and burglary to death investigations and criminal mischief. There were also two separate first-degree assault cases reported in Seligman.

Additional events involved statutory rape reported in Cassville on April 16 and runaway juvenile case from Cassville on April 18. The week also saw several vehicle lockouts across different locations such as Seligman and Cassville.

The sheriff’s office emphasized that not every call for service results in an official report but provided this summary to inform the public about law enforcement activity within Barry County over the specified period.
