Since his election to the U.S. Congress in 2023, Rep. Eric Burlison, representing Missouri’s 7th District, has remained vocal about various policy issues. Burlison, born in Springfield, Missouri, and a graduate of Missouri State University, has built a political career including previous terms in both the Missouri House of Representatives and Senate. His recent social media posts shed light on his conservative stance on national policies and border control.

On April 24, 2025, Burlison expressed concerns about the permanence of policies from former President Trump. He emphasized the need for legislative action to preserve these policies, stating that “Congress must codify Trump’s policies. All of his incredible wins can be erased with the stroke of a pen if Congress fails to act.”

The following day, Burlison criticized the Democratic Party’s approach toward immigration and border protection. He referenced what he perceives as inconsistencies in their policy enforcement, remarking that “Democrats’ approach to criminal illegal aliens is a masterclass in doublespeak. Borders are sacred—until they’re not, and their selective defense of due process and basic commonsense bends to a bizarre, self-serving ideology.”

Burlison, at 46, continues to reside in Ozark, Missouri, signifying his strong connections to the region he represents. His educational background from Missouri State University and career experience in state politics contribute to his legislative priorities in Congress.
