The City of Monett announced on April 27 that a ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29 at Monett’s South Park to mark the completion of a new playground.
The event is organized by the City of Monett in partnership with the Monett Area Chamber of Commerce and the Monett Area YMCA. The ceremony highlights an investment in local recreational facilities aimed at benefiting both residents and visitors.
According to the announcement, the project represents a $106,770 investment in the city park system, funded through a voter-approved park tax. City staff partnered with Miracle to bring this new play structure to life. The partnership also allows Miracle to showcase its equipment near its manufacturing plant.
The new playground is located near South Park’s tennis and pickleball courts and features Ecoturf surfacing at its base. Two established parking lots are available nearby for visitors attending the event or using the facility.
Officials say they look forward to welcoming community members as they celebrate this addition to Monett’s parks.
