Eric Burlison, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Missouri’s 7th district, has taken to social media to express his views on tax reform and gun legislation. On February 3, 2025, he made several posts addressing these issues.

On February 3, 2025, Rep. Eric Burlison shared his support for the Fair Tax and suggested that tariffs could be a viable alternative to abolish income taxes. He stated: “I advocate for the Fair Tax and would accept tariffs to abolish income taxes. Tax consumption not production to foster growth and free our earnings.”

Later the same day, Burlison criticized the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) for its regulations concerning pistol braces. He declared: “The ATF uses unconstitutional measures like the Pistol Brace Rule to turn millions of law-abiding gun owners into felons overnight. I’ve had enough. H.R. 221 will Abolish the ATF.” He encouraged others to join his movement.

In another post on February 3, Burlison addressed concerns over the National Firearms Act (NFA), which he believes infringes on Second Amendment rights by taxing and regulating firearms excessively. He announced: “The NFA infringes on our Second Amendment rights, taxing and regulating our firearms into inaccessibility. It’s time to repeal this unconstitutional act and restore our liberties.” His bill, H.R. 335 aims to repeal this act.
