Eric Burlison, a U.S. Congress representative for Missouri’s 7th district, recently shared his views on fiscal policies, government structure, and international commerce through a series of tweets. Burlison, who succeeded Billy Long in 2023, has a history in Missouri politics, having previously served in the state’s House of Representatives and Senate.

On April 9, 2025, Burlison addressed fiscal governance, criticizing proposed budget cuts: “$4 billion in cuts over 10 years is a joke. House Republicans already passed $2 TRILLION in real cuts. We can support President Trump and fight for fiscal sanity.”

Later that day, Burlison continued with a call to action regarding government agencies: “It’s time to dismantle this deep-state bureaucracy once and for all.” He encouraged his colleagues to back H.R. 221, targeting the Abolishment of the ATF, citing defense of constitutional liberties.

Burlison also expressed concerns about international trade and safety regulations: “While American companies are being blocked by the FDA, China has been flooding our markets with dangerous counterfeit products.”

Burlison is a native of Springfield, Missouri, and currently resides in Ozark. He received his education from Missouri State University, earning his BA in 2000 and another degree in 2002.
