Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office – Field Day at the Chesapeake Hatchery

Today, Lt. Berry and Sgt. Kotlarz participated in a field day at the Chesapeake Hatchery.

This event hosted by the Missouri Department of Conservation allowed us to show Mt. Vernon 6th graders what crime scene investigators do.

Students participated in digging up and collecting dirt looking for evidence.  They then got to use a dirt sifter to find evidence in a crime.

Despite the weather, it was a great time for all!  Lots of great information was passed into young minds in hopes of finding future detectives!
