The Monett City Council, administration, and city staff expressed thanks on May 4 to Waymark Church, the owners of Ritchey Mill, and event sponsors for hosting a staff appreciation picnic at Ritchey Mill in Granby on Saturday, May 2.

The event recognized the efforts of city employees by providing them with a day of activities and fellowship. Organizers said all expenses were covered through donations from sponsors so there was no cost to the city.

Ritchey Mill served as the host site for the gathering and offered various activities for attending staff members. Waymark Church prepared hamburgers and hot dogs for those present.

Attendees had opportunities to take flights with a local pilot, view several antique vehicles displayed by Ritchey Mill, and even test drive some of them. Monett police contributed rides in their MRAP vehicle while fire and police personnel set up cornhole boards for additional entertainment.

The event brought together city employees and their families outside regular work duties, fostering community spirit among municipal workers.
