Liberty Utilities has informed the City of Monett that there will be a planned power outage starting at 9 p.m. on Sunday, March 8, 2026. The outage is expected to last for about two hours.

The interruption in service is necessary as Liberty Utilities conducts repairs on switches at a substation located on the north side of Monett. This work will also affect other communities situated south along U.S. 39, which will experience a temporary loss of electrical service.

City officials are working with local partners to communicate details about the scheduled outage to residents and organizations in the area. Residents are advised that they do not need to report this specific outage using Hometown Grid or Utility Dispatch.

Emergency services, including 911 and other essential response operations, will remain available throughout the duration of the power outage.

Electricity is expected to be restored by approximately 11 p.m. on Sunday night.
