Rep. Eric Burlison, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Missouri’s 7th district since 2023, has recently shared his views on social media regarding Jim Acosta’s departure from CNN and a political plan by the Freedom Caucus. Burlison, who succeeded Billy Long in Congress and has a history of service in both the Missouri House of Representatives and Senate, used his platform to comment on these developments.

On January 28, 2025, Rep. Burlison remarked on Jim Acosta’s departure from CNN with a pointed statement: “Let’s give a round of applause to Jim Acosta for providing the world with a live demonstration on how to get body-slammed by reality.”

Later that day, he reiterated his thoughts about Acosta leaving CNN by posting: “Jim Acosta is leaving CNN. Never forget when he provided the world with a live demonstration on how to get body-slammed by reality.”

In another post made on January 28, 2025, Rep. Burlison addressed conservatives directly concerning a plan proposed by the Freedom Caucus. He stated: “If you’re a conservative who values national security, economic stability, and smaller government, opposing the @freedomcaucus ‘218 for DOGE’ plan would be like voting against your own principles.”
