96 percent of applicants to Missouri Southern State University were admitted for fall 2018

At Missouri Southern State University, 75 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 62 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Joplin enrolled 6,006 students in fall 2018, including 5,851 in undergraduate and 155 in graduate programs, data shows. 8.8 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

81 percent of undergraduates are residents of Missouri, and 18 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (72 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (8 percent).

The school admitted 96 percent of the 2,304 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 41 percent enrolled.
