Which political committee based in a city within Newton County spent the most during Q1?

Michael D. Landis for Joplin School Board Committee spent the most out of political committees within a city in Newton County during the first quarter of 2023.

It spent $4,888 on two vendors during the time period.

The largest expense was for Advertisement to Sign Designs, which is based in Joplin.

The second largest political spend from a committee operating in a city within Newton County during the first quarter of 2023 came from Newton County Republican Central Committee. It spent $4,615 during the time period on two different vendors.

What’s known as “dark money”, which comes from political non-profits and shell corporations, has greatly increased expenditures and donations in recent elections to record-breaking highs.
