2021 has 4.7% of Newton County residents unemployed

Newton County recorded an unemployment rate of 4.7% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 1,327 people out of the 58,634 living in Newton County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Newton County has decreased compared to the 4.9% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Newton County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 4.5%.

Of the 26,772 people who had a job during that time, 21 were employed in the Armed Forces and 26,751 belonged to the civilian labor force.
