Eric Burlison, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Missouri's 7th district, recently expressed his views on social media regarding government spending and media coverage of public figures. Burlison, who succeeded Billy Long in 2023, has been vocal about his stance on fiscal responsibility and cultural issues.

On February 3, 2025, Rep. Burlison declared an end to what he described as "The radical left's spending spree," advocating for the termination of USAID with a statement: "The radical left's spending spree is OVER. It's time to DELETE USAID."

Later that day, Burlison criticized Democrats for their financial priorities in another post dated February 3, 2025: "Democrats are obsessed with sending YOUR hard-earned tax dollars to useless USAID projects that do NOTHING for you. Billions wasted on foreign handouts while Americans struggle." He emphasized redirecting funds towards domestic initiatives under the Trump administration's "America First" policy.

On February 4, 2025, Rep. Burlison commented on a commencement speech by Chiefs Kicker Harrison Butker at a Catholic university. In his tweet: "Chiefs Kicker Harrison Butker delivered a powerful commencement speech at a Catholic university, celebrating fatherhood, family, and faith." Burlison accused the media of attacking Butker for upholding traditional values.
