Freeman Health System has announced new appointments to its board. Paula Baker, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Freeman Health System, introduced the appointees who will serve in various capacities.
Among those appointed is Dr. Michael Zafuta, an orthopedic surgeon with Freeman. Also joining the board is Don Doherty, a financial advisor with Northwestern Mutual. Lindsay Madison, the President and CEO of Fort Scott Area Chamber of Commerce, was also named to the board. Jay Leek, who serves as Chief Financial Officer at Beachner Companies of Fort Scott, and Gregg Motley from Fort Scott are included in the new appointments.
Don Doherty expressed his objectives as board chairman: “My goal (as board chairman) is to listen to what the community is saying, to discuss it in an accurate and honest approach to Freeman officials, and to help get the best outcome possible for a hospital and emergency room established in our community.”
The appointments reflect Freeman Health System's commitment to involving experienced professionals from diverse fields in its governance structure.
