Rep. Eric Burlison, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Missouri’s 7th district, shared his views on government spending and policy issues through a series of tweets on May 15, 2025.

In his first tweet, Burlison expressed concern over congressional spending habits, stating "Congress can’t stop spending. Spending buys power, loyalty, and votes. And nowhere is this more evident than in the unchecked expansion of welfare programs." This comment reflects his stance on what he perceives as excessive governmental expenditure.

Later that day, Burlison criticized what he termed as a "problem-solving" class that has not been effective in resolving issues but instead demands more resources to address its own failures. He praised former President Trump for recognizing bureaucracy as a fundamental problem by tweeting "For too long, Americans have subsidized a 'problem-solving' class that fails to solve anything... Under President Trump, the country finally has a leader who sees bureaucracy as the root of the problem."

In another tweet posted shortly after, Burlison addressed economic concerns related to legislation aimed at reducing inflation. He claimed that "The so-called Inflation Reduction Act didn’t reduce inflation. It fueled a trillion-dollar radical Democrat scam that has made our grid weaker and our nation poorer." He invited followers to join an episode of Fresh Freedom featuring Ben Lieberman to discuss repealing green energy initiatives.

Eric Burlison began his term in Congress in 2023 after replacing Billy Long. Prior to this role, he served in both the Missouri House of Representatives and Senate from 2009 to 2017 and from 2019 to 2023 respectively.
