Rep. Eric Burlison, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Missouri’s 7th district, has recently expressed his views on energy policy and government spending through a series of tweets. Rep. Burlison succeeded Billy Long in 2023 and has been vocal about his stance on energy and fiscal matters.

On May 19, 2025, Rep. Burlison tweeted about his opposition to the Green New Deal, which he referred to as the "Green New Scam." He stated that terminating this initiative is "the mandate." The full tweet can be accessed here.

The following day, on May 20, 2025, Rep. Burlison highlighted the importance of energy independence under former President Trump's administration by stating that such leadership would enhance America’s military and economic resilience. His comments were shared via a tweet available here.

Later that day, Rep. Burlison criticized the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), claiming it had misused billions of taxpayer dollars on what he described as the "Green New Scam." He mentioned that the GOP Oversight Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Energy Policy, and Regulatory Affairs was investigating instances of waste, fraud, and abuse associated with this program. Further details were provided in his tweet found here.

Eric Burlison has been active in politics since serving in the Missouri House of Representatives from 2009 to 2017 and later in the Missouri Senate from 2019 to 2023 before joining Congress.
