Eric Burlison, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Missouri’s 7th district, shared his views on recent legislative developments through a series of tweets. Burlison, who succeeded Billy Long in 2023 and has a background in both the Missouri House of Representatives and Senate, expressed his stance on fiscal policies and gun regulation.
On May 22, 2025, Burlison highlighted the efforts of the Freedom Caucus and fiscal conservatives in achieving significant victories within President Trump's legislative proposal. He stated: ".@freedomcaucus and fiscal hawks battled hard for major victories in President Trump's 'Big Beautiful' bill. I'll keep pushing for spending cuts, but this is a significant win for his agenda."
Later that day, Burlison issued an official statement regarding the progress of President Trump’s comprehensive bill in the House. He announced: "My official statement on the House advancing President Trump’s ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’."
In another tweet posted on May 22, 2025, Burlison celebrated changes to firearm regulations by removing suppressors from the National Firearms Act (NFA). He commented: "Removing suppressors from the NFA is a massive win for gun owners. The tax is gone. The registry is gone. I'm hopeful the Senate will go even further with ending the unconstitutional regulation of SBRs and SBSs."
Eric Burlison was born in Springfield, Missouri in 1976 and currently resides in Ozark. He graduated from Missouri State University with a BA in 2000 and again completed his studies there in 2002.
