Eric Burlison, a U.S. Congressman representing Missouri's 7th district since 2023, has been vocal on various issues through his social media presence. Having replaced Billy Long in Congress, Burlison previously served in the Missouri House of Representatives and the Missouri Senate. Born in Springfield, Missouri, he currently resides in Ozark.
On June 2, 2025, Burlison shared his thoughts on what he described as a significant failure of leadership over the past four years. He referred to this period as "A four-year trainwreck that history will judge as a betrayal of the American people."
The following day, June 3, 2025, Burlison expressed concern over Medicaid recipients' activities. He highlighted a report stating that “For Medicaid recipients who do not report working, the most common activity after sleeping is watching television and playing video games. They spend 4.2 hours per day watching television and playing video games, or 125 hours during a 30-day month.”
Later on June 3rd, Burlison addressed issues related to government spending and support for former President Trump's policies. He stated that "The Swamp protects the members who feed it, and they're fighting the Trump agenda every single day." He urged Congress to take action by codifying budget cuts known as DOGE cuts and eliminating wasteful spending.
Eric Burlison graduated from Missouri State University with both undergraduate and graduate degrees by 2002.
