Eric Burlison, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Missouri’s 7th district since 2023, has been vocal on social media about his views regarding fiscal policy and government efficiency. On June 4, 2025, Burlison took to Twitter to express his support for Elon Musk's influence within the conservative movement.

In a tweet posted at 15:14 UTC, Burlison stated that "The conservative movement NEEDS @elonmusk." He emphasized Musk's role in providing "air cover for fiscal hawks fighting moderates within our own party," referencing an incident in December where Musk's criticism contributed to the failure of a continuing resolution (CR). Burlison highlighted the need for such influential voices in Congress.

Later that day, at 16:20 UTC, Burlison tweeted about legislative priorities, stating "We should be voting on the $9.4 billion rescissions package TODAY." This tweet underscores his advocacy for addressing budgetary issues promptly.

In another tweet posted at 16:38 UTC, Burlison again mentioned Elon Musk while criticizing Congress's reluctance to embrace opportunities for governmental reform. He wrote that ".@elonmusk gift-wrapped Congress a golden opportunity to do what the American people actually want: shrink government, slash waste, and abolish bloated, redundant agencies." However, he lamented that many in Congress prefer maintaining the status quo.

Burlison has been active in politics since serving in the Missouri House of Representatives from 2009 to 2017 and later in the Missouri Senate from 2019 until he assumed his current congressional role. Born in Springfield and residing in Ozark, he is a graduate of Missouri State University.
