The latest advancements in heart care technology are making significant strides in improving patient outcomes. Dr. Longnecker, a medical professional, has highlighted the benefits of using three-dimensional representations of a patient's heart and blood vessels. These 3D images can be overlaid onto a real-time, two-dimensional fluoroscopic view, providing a detailed "roadmap" for medical procedures.

One advantage of this technology is the reduction in the need for contrast dye injections. The quality and sharpness of the images mean that less dye is required, which is beneficial as it can sometimes cause allergic reactions in patients.

Additionally, stent visualization technology allows physicians to see existing stents inside arteries more clearly. This aids in accurately placing new stents and estimating the size of blockages to determine the optimal-sized stent needed.

Dr. Longnecker expressed enthusiasm about these technological advancements: “We’re so excited to have this technology and to bring it to the Joplin area,” he said. “It’s really second to none.”
