Newton County ranked 35th in Missouri for resident earnings in 2019

Newton County ranked 35th among counties in Missouri by annual earnings per resident, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The median income of Newton County residents was $26,793 per year, adjusted for inflation. It had 22,202 households with a population of 58,180.

The county with the highest median resident income in the state was Platte County with $39,879 per year after adjusting for inflation – $13,086 more than Newton County. It had 39,305 households with a population of 100,682.

The county with the lowest median resident income in the state was Mississippi County with $14,973 per year after adjusting for inflation – $11,820 less than Newton County. It had 5,026 households with a population of 13,574.
