7% of citizens unemployed in Lawrence County in 2021

Lawrence County recorded an unemployment rate of 7% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 1,245 people out of the 38,123 living in Lawrence County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Lawrence County has decreased compared to the 7.8% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Lawrence County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 4.5%.

Of the 16,429 people who had a job during that time, 33 were employed in the Armed Forces and 16,396 belonged to the civilian labor force.
