6.1% of McDonald County residents considered unemployed in 2021

McDonald County recorded an unemployment rate of 6.1% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 611 people out of the 23,267 living in McDonald County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in McDonald County has increased compared to the 4.3% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in McDonald County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 4.5%.

Of the 9,341 people who had a job during that time, 29 were employed in the Armed Forces and 9,312 belonged to the civilian labor force.
