Eric Burlison, a U.S. Congressman representing Missouri’s 7th district since 2023, has recently shared his views on various national issues through social media posts. Burlison, who succeeded Billy Long in Congress and previously served in the Missouri House of Representatives and Senate, has been vocal about government spending and energy policies.
On March 24, 2025, Rep. Eric Burlison criticized bureaucratic agencies for their inefficiencies. He stated that "Defending the ridiculous waste, fraud, and abuse in our bureaucratic agencies doesn’t sit well with folks." He further expressed that "The American people know it's a blatant rip off of their tax money."
Later the same day, Burlison commented on energy policies under former President Trump. He praised Trump's efforts by stating that "President Trump is unleashing American energy and putting money back in your pocket." He concluded with "Promises made, promises kept!"
In another post from March 24, 2025, Burlison addressed concerns about the national debt. He projected significant financial challenges ahead by noting that "In 10 years the United States is on course to add $20 trillion to the national debt." This would bring the total owed by taxpayers to over $56 trillion. He highlighted Medicaid reform as a necessary step but criticized lawmakers for lacking courage to address it.
