Rep. Eric Burlison, a U.S. Congressman representing Missouri’s 7th district since 2023, has voiced his opinions on several pressing political issues through social media posts. Burlison, who previously served in the Missouri House of Representatives and the Missouri Senate, shared his thoughts on Medicaid reforms, fiscal policies in Congress, and a notable regulatory change made under President Trump's administration.

On April 28, 2025, Burlison criticized the Biden administration's decision to alter Medicaid regulations. He asserted, "Joe Biden eliminated state work requirements and opened the floodgates for fraud and abuse in Medicaid. Congress must protect these programs for the truly vulnerable."

Later that day, Burlison commented on fiscal management and legislative processes in Congress. He remarked on longstanding strategic tactics, "The classic D.C. playbook is to delay as long as possible, then ram through costly, swampy legislation." Burlison emphasized the necessity for spending cuts, noting, "Fiscal conservatives have fought for verbal and written commitments to include meaningful spending cuts in the reconciliation bill. Whether Congress will act responsibly."

In contrast to the more serious tones of his earlier posts, Burlison also acknowledged a less conventional policy change, labeling it a success of former President Trump’s initial tenure. He stated, "The most underrated win of President Trumps first 100 days: Ending the war on plastic straws."

Rep. Eric Burlison, born in Springfield, Missouri, is a graduate of Missouri State University. He resides in Ozark.
