Eric Burlison, a U.S. Congressman representing Missouri's 7th district since 2023, has shared his views on Medicaid expansion and federal agency oversight through a series of tweets. Burlison, who succeeded Billy Long in Congress and previously served in the Missouri House of Representatives and Senate, expressed concerns about the current administration's policies.

On May 6, 2025, Burlison tweeted about the implications of Medicaid expansion under President Joe Biden. He stated that "Medicaid expansion under Joe Biden is jeopardizing the future of the program for the truly vulnerable." Burlison emphasized the need for Congressional reform to safeguard Medicaid for those genuinely in need.

In another tweet posted on the same day, Burlison shared a link without any accompanying text or context. The tweet can be found here.

Later that day, Burlison commented on President Trump's budget proposal regarding the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). He tweeted that "President Trump's budget puts the ATF on a tight leash and is a great step toward dismantling the agency in its entirety." He advocated for passing H.R. 221 to eliminate the ATF altogether.

Burlison was born in Springfield, Missouri in 1976 and currently resides in Ozark. He graduated from Missouri State University with a BA in 2000 and continued his education there until 2002.
