Rep. Eric Burlison, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Missouri’s 7th district, recently expressed his views on several issues via social media. Burlison has been serving in this capacity since 2023 after succeeding Billy Long and has previously held positions in both the Missouri House of Representatives and Senate.

On May 7, 2025, Rep. Burlison criticized the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), stating that its legacy is "nothing but destruction and tyranny." He called for legislative action to dismantle the agency by passing H.R. 221. "The ATF's legacy is nothing but destruction and tyranny. Congress must pass H.R. 221 and get rid of it for good."

Later that day, he voiced his concerns over federal spending, asserting that Americans are weary of what he described as Washington's excuses and fiscal mismanagement. He advocated for reducing government expenditure to prevent an impending financial crisis: "The American people are done with Washington’s excuses, done with the lies, done with the theft of their tax dollars." He urged lawmakers to "slash the spending," "break the addiction," and "save America from the fiscal cliff."

In another tweet on May 7, Burlison addressed gender-related policies in sports competitions with a reference to popular culture: "First rule of fight club? How about don't let men in women's fight club." This comment was directed at discussions involving gender identity in sports.

Rep. Eric Burlison has built his political career on advocating for conservative values and fiscal responsibility. Born in Springfield, Missouri in 1976, he holds degrees from Missouri State University.
