Rep. Eric Burlison, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Missouri’s 7th district since 2023, has been vocal about Medicaid reform in his recent social media posts. On May 9, 2025, Burlison addressed the need for reform within Medicaid through a series of tweets.

In his first tweet on May 9 at 17:13 UTC, Burlison stated that "Acknowledging the need for reform is not a betrayal of Medicaid’s purpose; it is a defense of its survival." He emphasized that "The time for denial is over."

Later that day at 19:01 UTC, he shared another post without any accompanying text but included a link to an external source: https://t.co/SV1ZkUFmsN.

Concluding his series of tweets on May 9 at 20:55 UTC, Burlison asserted that "Medicaid is broken—and it’s unethical for Congress to allow the program to fail because of yet another Obamacare domino effect."

Eric Burlison was born in Springfield, Missouri in 1976 and currently resides in Ozark. He graduated from Missouri State University with a BA in 2000 and again in 2002. Before serving in Congress, he was part of the Missouri House of Representatives from 2009 to 2017 and the Missouri Senate from 2019 to 2023.
