On May 8, 2025, Rep. Burlison expressed concerns about the current system allowing states to "exploit waivers from the federal government to weaken work requirements for food stamps." He emphasized that states should "have some skin in the game and keep SNAP affordable for those truly in need" while tagging former Representative Matt Gaetz in his post. Later that day, Burlison addressed fiscal policy by asserting that Congress has a significant chance to challenge existing norms and advocate for substantial spending cuts. Born in Springfield, Missouri in 1976 and residing in Ozark, Eric Burlison holds degrees from Missouri State University. His career includes previous service in both Missouri's House of Representatives and Senate before joining Congress.
